Peter J. Martin & Son are an old established family firm buying & selling fine quality antique & later furniture.The business was founded in Eton some 40 years ago by Peter Martin, moving to our current premises in 1978. Peter still runs the business with his son Paul, and while they are on the road searching for stock the shop is ably managed by another family member, Pippa Dimbleby.
We carry a large & eclectic range of furniture in oak, walnut, mahogany & exotic timbers, for the home & office, dating mostly from the 18th through to the early 20th centuries, as well as a few later pieces of traditional style if they have sufficient quality. Also, from time to time we may have a limited range of paintings, prints, rugs & objects in stock (depending on what fortune sends our way). With two buyers constantly on the road searching for stock there are always fresh pieces available for your perusal. And if we haven't got exactly what you are looking for, our extensive range of contacts in the trade means there's a good chance we can find it for you!

For the first thirty years of our existence, 95% of our business was done selling large quantities of unrestored goods to the home & overseas trade markets. While this still forms a large part of our business (& we still offer excellent trade & export terms), over the last 10 years or so we have also tried to improve our service to the retail customer by improving the appearance of our showrooms & carrying more restored items in stock. All restoration is carried out in sympathetic & traditional style by our own skilled craftsman, Peter Barron. We also offer free local delivery, & can arrange delivery to anywhere in the U.K. as well as shipping to virtually anywhere in the world.
